Mopar
Mopar (short for MOtor PARts) is the automobile parts and service arm of Chrysler Group LLC. The term was first used by Chrysler in the 1920s and has been in continuous use ever since. Mopar parts are original equipment manufactured parts for Chrysler vehicles. In Canada, these were sold under the Chryco and AutoPar brands until the Mopar brand was phased into that nation's market, starting in the late 1970s.
Mopar has passed into broader usage among car enthusiasts as an unambiguous reference to the Chrysler parent company, as the Chrysler name also refers to a company marque. The term has thus become an inclusive word for any Chrysler-built vehicle—most any Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Imperial, or DeSoto, plus Jeeps and AMC vehicles built after Chrysler's 1987 buyout of AMC-Jeep. Thus, for example, a car club for owners of any Chrysler Corporation vehicle might describe itself as a club for "Mopar enthusiasts".

How to Super Tune! Performance Engine Building and Carburetor TuningReviewsThis video is great! It has lots of info and is easy to go back to review sections,or just watch the whole dvd again. I guaranty you'll pick up something new every time.Winter is here, the drag strip is closed, this would make a great gift for any performance enthusiast on your list. the dvd was well planned and easy to understand and follow with its contents leaving little question on what to do. Produced results that went far beyond I ever thought I could get out of my car. Recomed for all to use This DVD is GREAT. Wayne tells you the ins and outs of building a SUPER PIMP motor. He is Very knowledgable and knows what he is talking about. Everything you need to know is in this video. He explains things very well and in depth. After watching the video, I had a few questions. I was able to call Wayne and talk to him, and he was more than happy to answer my questions. You can definently tell this is not just a job, its his passion. I would recommend this video for anybody who enjoys GOING FAST and BUILDING IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME..... PVP It's obvious that lots of thought and planning went into this DVD. Wayne presents the info really well, and his knowledgeable and likable style makes you feel like you're not being "taught" the material. You feel like you're in a casual conversation with a buddy who has been doing this for a long time, a buddy who answers all your questions. There's so much great material here: the info given is well-organized and presented in a logical fashion. A lot of the terms and techniques used in engine building were REALLY explained to me for the first time! A first-class video. This comprehensive video should be in every car nuts collection. Whether you're a drag racer looking for that next tenth, or just want the most power out of your street combination, this video will deliver the goods. Average Rating:![]() |

LIONS THE GREATEST DRAG STRIP (Part 3/1967-'72) by Don Gillespie: Third and final video documentary on sport's most famous drag strip (Long Beach, Calif.); rare photos, film, interviews with leading pioneers.ReviewsThe best of the California I grew up with. Before it became an overpopulated police state filled with too many liberal conformist drones. Gillespie is to be congratulated for compiling some of the essence of the wonderful things we experienced in our youth. The quintessential fearless American can-do attitude when people who are afraid to drive to the store unless surrounded by a dozen air bags would have been simply incomprehensible. Progress is good, but the softies might benefit from a tour of duty in the Marines or getting sat down behind one of these monsters from when "No Fear" was a hell of a lot more than a slogan on a t-shirt. Buy it-you'll love it. Bring a little of the wildness back. Freedom! Excellent service. Product arrived well before promised date and in excellent shape. I recommend this seller and the product. Excellant coverage of the first days of LADS. Having grown up at that strip it was fun to see it againe and share it with my kids and grandkids! The end of Lions, and how it came about. The DVD starts out with the voice of the late great Steve Evans! More and more drivers try to tame these out of control top fuel rides, untill it nearly takes the life of Big Daddy Don Garlits. Everybody tried to get the rear engine car to work, and some made it work for a short time, but Garlits made it work forever. Then the last drag race came on December 2nd 1972. As they say (And the rest is history) Part 3 is as good as 1 and 2. Trust me when I say, you need all 3. Hats off to Don Gillespie for the best documentary on the best drag strip of all time (LIONS). Garmin nüvi 1490/1490T 5-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with TrafficReviewsThis is the worst GPS I ever had. So far I only used garmin starting from streetpilot to nuvis. pros: -large display -free traffic -good signal reception (locks to satellites fast) cons: -poor lane assist, often times shows way too early and disappears too quickly -traffic information takes too long to show up -sometimes suddenly changes to a different location and doesn't recognize where you are -menu navigation is bad. you need to tap the back button all the way many times to go back to the main menu -completely buggy and finally died half way on my trip Now I bought another garmin hoping that the fault is only on this specific model. I, however, bought a tomtom just in case if it fails half way. I don't understand all of the complaints about this GPS. I was a little nervous about buying it after reading many of the bad reviews, but did anyway, due to Garmin's reputation and the Great Price on Amazon. It basically had all of the features I wanted. I replaced a Street Pilot that was stolen out of my car and have been very pleased with the 1490T. I travel four states for a living and have had it now for about two months, so I have used it quite a bit. It is very easy to use and the larger screen is a real plus. The only problem I have had, is that it did lock up on me once, for some reason, but it has never happened again. My only complaint is that the map detail is considerably less than my old Street Pilot. That's why I gave it a 4 Star and not a 5 Star. By the same token, if I had not had the Street Pilot, with great detail, I wouldn't miss it. I will say that the screen is not nearly as cluttered. I have not used the Bluetooth, because I already have a Bluetooth Speaker Phone for my Blackberry. Overall I think I made a good choice. I would recommend this GPS to anyone ! I just received my unit. When I registered it online with Garmin I discovered that the maps are from April 2009, almost a year old. The Garmin website promises that if you register your new Nuvi and a new map is available within 60 days of purchase it will be free. I pasted their guarantee below. When I registered I am only offered the option of purchasing new maps. Perhaps since these are refurbished they are not "new" per Garmin. They are closed after 5 on Friday so I can't get an answer from them. I am extremely unhappy as I have a trip planned for next week. BUYER BEWARE! Quick Links nüvi zmo Garmin Connect Map Updates Copyright © 1996-2010 Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries | Privacy Statement | Terms of Use | Site Map I would suggest you stay away from Garmin GPS units. They are totally unreliable and customer service is terrible. I purchased a 1490T in August 09 and it started shutting itself off repeatedly about a month later. Once it shuts itself off, it's very difficult to turn back on. I did a firmware upgrade that did nothing but erase my address book. Calling customer service to ask for warranty work is a joke. I called a dozen times at different times of day and have had to hang up every time after 30 minutes of waiting. This is my second Garmin unit. The first one was a 350 Nuvi that quit working after 18 months. I will never purchase any Garmin product again. I finnally purchased another company's GPS unit that works well. Garmin should be ashamed of themselves for putting such garbage in the market. I purchased my first garmin nuvi 1490 in November from Costco. I liked the lane assist, the traffic function, and the wide screen. The touchscreen wasn't as fast to respond to typing in an address as my apple I-phone but it was functional. The blue tooth was loud and clear, however if your cell phone volume is turned up and the navigation system was on 20% the phone call was great, but as soon as you disconnected, the navigation volume didn't recognize the change and the next time a turn was announced it was at full volume. The 1490 system worked fine for about 2 months, then one morning I got in my car and the navigation wouldn't turn on. It said loading maps, like it always did for a few seconds, but this time the navigation didn't boot up. I tried for an hour to turn it on. Then I returned it to costco. I returned it for another nuvi 1490 and on Thursday as I was driving around downtown Los Angles the screen turned off... It was plugged in, all the connections were connected, one second it was on, and the next second it was off. There is some glitch with this nuvi that in my opinion makes it totally unreliable. I would not reccomend this model. Average Rating:![]() |

RediRad RR100N 12 volt negative-ground AM-band Classic Car Radio Adapter for iPod / MP3 / CD / Sirius-XM Radio playersReviewsI purchased the RediRad after reading about it in the GTOAA"s Legend magazine a couple of year's ago. I finally got around to wiring it up to the Grand Prix's factory am-fm radio earlier this year (2009) just in time to enjoy our Ipod while driving the Grand Prix cross country, from Los Angeles to Dayton OH, for the annual Pontiac National Convention. The xlnt instructions simplified installation with only two wires, 12V+ switched & ground, and one antenna lead being required for hookup. I elected to mount the small unit on top of the hvac case using velcro tape for retention. Once the unit was tuned to the proper frequency w/ my Ipod plugged into the input port, we enjoyed static free uninterupted tunes during our 4500 mile trip. We highly recommend this device for enabling playback of modern electronic devices on your classic car's radio. Les & Sharren Iden Hacienda Hts. CA I have an original AM only radio in my Thunderbird, in nice working condition and still looks like new. Sure it only tunes to AM radio, but it is 'classic'! Recently I decided I would like to tune to FM radio channels and purchased a reproduction radio that looked 'classic' but had modern internals. I ran this radio for a few weeks and while it looked and worked ok it was not the classic looker of the standard radio. So, off I went in search of another way to get more than AM radio. I located the RediRad after a Thunderbird member posted a good review of the product and ordered one straight away. I installed it in my tbird and WOW; I can listen to the iPod or FM in a crunch via a portable radio. It worked exactly like advertised and was easy to install; even easier than described in the detailed instructions supplied. I really like my RediRad and if I ever sell the tbird, I can remove it and install in my new ride!!! Graeme (Australia) I installed this product in my 1966 Mustang in May- I can heartily endorse it if you have the stock AM radio and don't want to lose the originality and look in your dash. The product works well and having MP3's play through the original AM radio and dash speaker is def. a throwback. I personally like the contrast of hearing the songs in LOW fidelity, as you would have in 1966. Here are the PRO's- Easy installation-took me about a half hour. The Redi Rad mounts under the dash. I mounted mine right under the radio and used the IGN switch as my power source. Redi Rad even encloses useful connectors to crimp on the end of your wires during installation. I ran the Redi Rad jack wire under my carpet, right next to the trans hump, passenger side. I like to skip songs constantly, so having the MP3 player available right in my hand was my goal. The wire convienetly pokes out of the seam between the carpet, just in the perfect place. Also a bonus, the wire is just the perfect length to do this, no cutting needed. Can listen through an IPOD or other MP3 player device to your music. Can even hook up a small FM radio to it, as long as it has a headphone jack(just the same as an IPOD) which gives you both AM/FM if you really need that. Shipping and customer service was top notch, got mine in less than three days, and that was standard shipping- seem like nice people to do business with. CONS- Price- $130. You get to keep your original radio, but some might want to pump that money into upgrading the entire system. Buy this ONLY if you want to go for originality or don't want to spend $300 buying one of the repro radios(which for my money, still don't beat an original unit). I would recommend this product- it has performed well and for what I was looking for, originality, stock radio, I now get to hear my modern songs through an original AM radio- can't beat it! Enjoy the RediRad model RR100N in vehicles that have a negative-ground, 12 volt electrical system. (See Brew City Engineering FAQ page to determine your car's electrical system.) At last, you can listen to music from your portable CD player, iPod, satellite radio or cassette player in your collectible automobile, but without any broadcast radio interference and without modifying it's original radio... |
